The Photographs that matter change over time
On your wedding day, you might love the dramatic portrait in the rain. Next week, it might be the photo of everyone laughing at the reception. Twenty years from now, it may be a simple picture of someone you love standing beside you.
That's why I don't believe in shooting a wedding according to one style or trend. Some moments should be left alone. Some photographs need direction. Some should show the whole scene, and sometimes the faces matter more than anything around them.
My job is to know the difference and give you photographs that feel good now, but become more valuable with time.
Calm when it counts
Before I photographed weddings, I spent 15 years as a Cincinnati police officer. After thousands of calls for service and even being shot at, it takes quite a bit for a wedding day to rattle me. Police work taught me something pretty simple: do what you said you were going to do. Answer the phone. Reply to the email. Show up on time. Be prepared. And when something becomes your responsibility, handle it. That's pretty much how I approach weddings. I take the responsibility seriously. The stress, not so much.

Brian was very professional to work with and very responsive to texts and emails when we had questions. He was also a great calming presence on our wedding day, and we didn’t feel like cameras were in our faces all day. We could truly live in the moment.

From small celebrations to full wedding days, my approach stays simple: be prepared, pay attention, and make photographs that will matter long after the day is over.
